This fully professional symphony orchestra presents nine different symphonic concerts in three weeks. Conductor Victor Yampolsky brings musicians from America’s finest orchestra to the intimate Door Community Auditorium each August for this annual event. 60th Season highlights: two-time Grammy winning violinist Hilary Hahn; Norwegian violinist Henning Kraggerud; pianists Orli Shaham & Anton Nel; Beethoven’s Choral Symphony & more. Peninsula Players Theatre - A Truly Unforgettable Theatrical Experience. Renowned for its artistic excellence and picturesque setting along the shoreline of Door County, America’s oldest professional resident summer theater celebrates its historic 77th season in 2012. Enjoy a cocktail from the Luna Bar while relaxing under the canopy of a cedar forest in the beer garden before settling into the all-weather pavilion for an evening of unsurpassed professional theater. Peninsula School of Art and Guenzel Gallery are open year round for students and visitors. The School offers 1- to 5-day workshops in all media, and for all levels, led by nationally-recognized artist educators. The Summer Studios for Young Artists program features age-appropriate curriculum for students aged 31/2 to 17 years old. The spacious Guenzel Gallery, designed to be reminiscent of Wisconsin’s historic round barns, displays the works of nationally-recognized artists in exhibitions that illustrate visual arts educational themes. The exhibitions encompass the full range of genres and media. A visit to the Gallery, the School, and its gardens and grounds is free and open to the public. Open Monday – Saturday, April – October, from 8am-5pm, then Tuesday-Saturday, November – March, 9am-5pm.

In October of 2000, Third Avenue Playhouse opened its doors under the direction of two well-known names in Door County theater: Amy McKenzie and James Kaplan and now serves the community as a year round center and a permanent home for the performing arts.
Located in historic Sturgeon Bay, Third Avenue Playhouse offers over 100 performances, programs and activities for the enjoyment of thousands of residents and visitors. Our unique mission embraces community theater, music, children¹s programming and arts education. Tickets are available at our theater box office and online on the website.
